Kendall Obra, Programs Coordinator
As a SoCal native, I have had the pleasure of working in many different facets in this beautiful region we call home.
I began in the field as a Fine Art Teacher for KidsArt in Redondo Beach, and then ventured into Recreation as Summer Camp Director for the City of Downey. I loved my work as Kindergarten Teaching Intern at Saint Marks Episopal School in Altadena, TK-8th grade School Counseling Intern for LAUSD and most recently getting my cardio in as Lead Teacher for MyGym Children’s Fitness Center in Huntington Beach. Above all else, my passion is interacting with kids as they explore their world, gain confidence and navigate social interactions.
While my adoration for children is innate, I am also a lifelong learner. I earned my Bachelors in Psychology and Social Behavior from UC Irvine, and am currently finishing up my fieldwork for my Masters in School Based Family Counseling from California State University Los Angeles, which combines Marriage and Family Therapy and School Counseling.
With experience as a therapist-in-training in individual, family and group modalities, I am excited to learn more about the uniqueness that each family brings into PlayLab.
